The Nebraska Medical Association is pleased to welcome Morgan Kristensen, JD, MPH, as its new Vice President of Advocacy & Regulation and In-House Counsel. Morgan succeeds Paul Henderson, JD, whose nearly four years of service have left a lasting mark on the organization and the physicians we represent.

Morgan brings legal, health care, and public policy experience that will strengthen the NMA’s advocacy efforts. She was a partner at Johnson Flodman Guenzel & Wasserburger LLP, and since 2018, has represented licensed health care professionals, long-term care facilities, and assisted living communities in private practice. Her work has included regulatory compliance, professional investigations, reimbursement and insurance matters, Medicaid issues, legislative review and research, and the development of organizational policies and procedures.

Morgan earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law and holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health. Her blend of legal, regulatory, and health policy experience positions her well to advance the NMA’s mission.

As we welcome Morgan, we also recognize and thank Paul for his contributions to the NMA.

Paul joined the Association in July 2022 and immediately stepped into a challenging legislative environment. As complex policy issues intensified, he provided thoughtful counsel, steady leadership, and a calm, strategic approach.

Throughout his time with the NMA, Paul played an instrumental role in shaping the Association’s legislative agenda and strengthening the work of the Legislative Committee and Nebraska Medical Political Action Committee Board. He also cultivated important relationships with state senators, coalition partners, and health care organizations across Nebraska. His ability to analyze complex legal and policy issues and navigate difficult legislative discussions earned respect within and outside the organization.

We are grateful for Paul’s service and commitment to Nebraska physicians, and we wish him every success in his next chapter. Morgan will work alongside Eric Sutton, JD, Director of Health Policy, as the NMA continues advancing policies that support Nebraska physicians and improve the health of our communities.
