At the Nebraska Medical Foundation, we believe that one of the most meaningful ways to shape the future of medicine is by supporting the next generation of physicians through scholarships. These donor-funded scholarships do more than ease the heavy financial burden of medical school, they affirm each student’s calling to care for others and remind them that their community believes in their future. Medical Student Scholarships

The Nebraska Medical Foundation provides scholarship opportunities to medical students who have demonstrated outstanding traits of character and leadership. Please review the eligibility criteria for each scholarship below.

Creighton University Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria

  • Attending medical school in Nebraska.
  • Current first, second, third, or fourth year medical student.
  • Member of the NMA Medical Student Chapter.
  • Resident of Buffalo, Franklin, Harlan, or Phelps County in Nebraska (determined by residence of parent or yourself).
  • Good academic standing.
  • Demonstrated outstanding traits of character and leadership qualities (a judgment of such traits as measured at the time of selection).

Policies & Procedures

  • Award will be made on basis of competitive application.
  • Selection of the award shall be made by the NMF Scholarship Committee.

  • The student agrees to correspond with the Lincoln County Medical Society and the Nebraska Medical Foundation at least once a year concerning their current activities in medical school.

  • Selection of the award shall be made by the NMF Scholarship Committee.
  • Notice of the award may be published at the option of the Nebraska Medical Association and the Association may issue a general news release.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Attending medical school in Nebraska.
  • Current third or fourth year medical student.
  • Member of the NMA Medical Student Chapter.
  • Outstanding scholarship (as judged by a cumulative assessment of such performance during medical school education).
  • Demonstrated outstanding traits of character and leadership qualities (a judgment of such traits as measured at the time of selection).
  • Planning to do a residency in family practice, OB/GYN, surgery, internal medicine or pediatrics (with preference in order listed).
  • Planning to practice in rural Nebraska in a town with population of 15,000 or less.
