NMA physician members are able to access the following insurance products:

Nebraska physicians who are members of the NMA and part of a clinic with two or more employees are eligible to participate on the NMA health plan. The health and dental coverage are available for physician members and eligible dependents as well as clinic employees and eligible dependents. Physicians do not need to participate on the plan for employees and dependents to qualify for coverage.

The NMA group health and dental plan began in 1979 with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska and continues to be a competitive, high-performing option for Nebraska physicians and their employees. The plan is fully funded and uses a pooled claims approach to provide long-term stability. The plan provides a variety of coverage options and unique benefits including surviving spouse benefit, retirement coverage provision, patient support programs, and employee only plans. The plan has experienced little to no volatility over the last decade and continues to outperform the market with single-digit rate increases.
