Nebraska Physicians,

As many of you know, NMA is spearheading LB527, a bold proposal to strengthen the Medicaid program and increase access to care. This legislation provides a significant increase in Medicaid reimbursement rates for services provided by physician practices and other nonhospital providers. LB527, the Medicaid Access and Quality Act, creates $130 million in new, dedicated funding for broad-based increases across nonhospital physical health services, with additional targeted enhancements for labor and delivery, primary care, and rural services.

LB527 has momentum—and we need your help!

LB527 is scheduled for a hearing before the Banking, Commerce, and Insurance Committee on Tuesday, February 4. We need your voice, as physicians, to advocate for fair reimbursement in the Medicaid program and the corresponding increase in access to care.

In support of LB527, submit written comments for the hearing record here.

Comments must be received by 8:00 a.m. CST on Tuesday, February 4. The key point to convey to the Members of the Banking, Commerce, and Insurance Committee is that current Medicaid reimbursement rates make it increasingly challenging for physician practices and other providers to care for patients covered by Medicaid.
