The NMA Board of Directors (BOD) is seeking applications for open seats. Applications are open to any member physician who wishes to serve in a leadership capacity for the NMA and Nebraska physicians.

One open board seat to a member physician located in Greater Nebraska. The position of President-Elect rotates triennially between a Greater Nebraska, Lancaster County Medical Society (LCMS), or Metro Omaha Medical Society (MOMS) member. Applicants may also apply for the following positions: one at-large director and/or AMA alternate delegate position.
Criteria
- Principal office is located located in Greater Nebraska (outside of the Lancaster County Medical Society (LCMS) or Metro Omaha Medical Society (MOMS) jurisdictions).
- Attend, prepare for, and actively participate in all quarterly board meetings.
- Serve as an advocate for NMA membership and Nebraska physicians.
- Respect, uphold, and support collective board decisions.
- Actively participate in Board activities including strategic planning, legislation, annual membership meeting, and other opportunities as they arise.
- Serve as a liaison between the membership and the Board of Directors.
- Maintain confidentiality of Board’s deliberations.
- Familiarize themselves with the duties which will fall on them as President.
- Fill committees in preparation for their term as President.
- Assume the office of President in the event the President is unable to complete their term and continue as President through the term to which previously elected.
- Perform other duties as delegated by the Board.
Term
- The position of President-Elect rotates triennially between a MOMS, LCMS, and Greater Nebraska member.
- Must be a member of the Association for at least two years prior to election.
- Term begins at the close of the Annual Meeting in which their election took place and end at the close of the next Annual Meeting.
- Serve one year as President-Elect, one year as President, and one year as Immediate Past President.
Two open seats for any Greater Nebraska, Lancaster County Medical Society (LCMS), or Metro Omaha Medical Society (MOMS) physician member. Applicants may also apply for the following positions: president-elect and/or AMA alternate delegate.

- Elected directors may serve up to three (3) years beginning at the close of the Annual Meeting in which the Director was elected. Terms will staggered so directors may be asked to serve a shorter initial term.
- Directors may serve up to two (2) consecutive terms.
- Any duration spent as an appointment to fill a vacancy prior to election by the membership shall not count towards a Director’s term.

- Attend, prepare for, and actively participate in all quarterly board meetings.
- Serve as an advocate for NMA membership and Nebraska physicians.
- Respect, uphold, and support collective board decisions.
- Actively participate in Board activities including strategic planning, legislation, annual membership meeting, and other opportunities as they arise.
- Serve as a liaison between the membership and the Board of Directors.
- Maintain confidentiality of Board’s deliberations.
Term

- Must be a current AMA and NMA member.
- Able to travel and attend the AMA Annual meeting in mid-June.*
- Able to travel and attend the AMA Interim meeting in mid-November.*
- Participate in preparation conference calls for each of the AMA meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality of Board’s deliberations.
Term
- Elected Delegates may serve up to three (3) years beginning at the close of the Annual Meeting in which the Delegate was elected. Terms will staggered so Delegates may be asked to serve a shorter initial term.
- Delegates may serve up to three (3) consecutive terms, however the Board may choose to grant a Delegate with an additional term beyond this limit.
- Any duration spent as an appointment to fill a vacancy prior to election by the membership shall not count towards a Delegate’s term.
